Lead DevOps Engineer with German

Sopra Steria is a major European tech company specializing in consulting, digital services, and software development, operating in nearly 30 countries with over 55,000 employees. The Polish branch in Katowice serves as a Global Delivery Center since 2007 with around 1,000 specialists. The Digital Platform Services department focuses on cloud, operating systems, virtualization, databases, backup, storage, networking, and security, while the Application Services department handles software development, data engineering, testing, CRM, ITSM, ERP integrations, and application management for clients in Scandinavia, Benelux, France, Germany, Switzerland, and the UK.

• Hands-on experience with Windows, Linux, Docker, SQL databases, cloud platforms, synchronous APIs, and storage solutions
• Experience with cloud-native development practices and microservice architectures
• Practical experience with containerization and orchestration technologies including Kubernetes, AKS, OpenShift, and Docker
• Very good knowledge of version control systems such as SVN and Git
• Understanding and application of IT security measures and access security including IAM and OAuth2/OIDC
• Experience with RESTful and SOAP web services and API management
• Practical experience developing highly available systems with concepts like redundancy
• Experience with cloud technologies, especially Azure (public, private, hybrid)
• EU citizenship and located in Poland
• Fluent English (B2/C1) and German (B2/C1)
• Openness to occasional business trips and office visits in Katowice

Nice to have:

• Experience with relational (SQL, PL-SQL, T-SQL) and non-relational (Redis, Cassandra) databases and management systems (MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle)
• Experience with cloud storage (Azure Blob Storage) and data provision (WebDAV)
• Practical experience in networking, client-server architectures, and distributed systems
• Experience analyzing and optimizing application and infrastructure performance
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Experience designing, setting up, and operating automated CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps tools
• Basic experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) and cloud portability concepts
• Security clearance

• Design, develop, and operate cloud-based microservices for business-critical applications
• Build and maintain containerized solutions on Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), OpenShift, and Docker
• Design, implement, and operate automated CI/CD pipelines using DevSecOps tools
• Apply secure by design principles, IT security, and identity and access management (IAM) including OAuth2/OIDC flows
• Develop and integrate REST and SOAP APIs including API management
• Integrate relational and non-relational databases as well as cloud storage and data-provision services
• Analyze and optimize application and infrastructure performance for availability, redundancy, and scalability
• Contribute to monitoring, observability, and operational stability within the DevSecOps team
• Collaborate within an agile (Scrum) team across the full software development lifecycle in close coordination with the client
