Distributed Systems Engineer 5 - Cloud Platform Infrastructure Engineering Tooling

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineering (CIE) team builds and operates the foundational platform for Netflix's global compute, storage, networking, and performance infrastructure. The Cloud Infrastructure Tooling team in Warsaw focuses on building internal tooling, developer-facing UIs, and shared services to reduce duplication and increase the velocity of the CIE domain teams.

• 7 or more years of experience designing and building complex, scalable distributed data infrastructure.
• Proficiency in at least one of: Java, Go, or C++, with strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Practical understanding of at least one infrastructure domain: compute, distributed storage, cloud networking, or performance.
• Experience owning and delivering high-impact systems end-to-end in dynamic and ambiguous environments.
• Experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.

• Product mindset towards internal tooling considering developer experience and adoption.
• Comfort with ambiguity and shaping problem definitions and solutions.

• Architect and build robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure.
• Drive alignment with stakeholders and set partner expectations.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives collaborating with engineers, product managers, and technical program managers.
• Share experiences with and contribute to open source communities, including Netflix OSS.
