The Lead Software Engineer

• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years with an Advanced degree or 0 years with a PhD, or 8+ years relevant experience
• Familiarity with Web/application servers: Apache HTTP Server, Microsoft IIS, Apache Tomcat, exposure to NGINX or JWS is a plus
• LDAP concepts and basic directory administration tasks
• Linux fundamentals and basic Windows Server administration
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools such as Splunk, Elastic/Kibana, Grafana, and Prometheus
• Understanding of SSO/federation standards: SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0 and MFA concepts
• Working knowledge of software development practices: Git, pull requests, scripting in Shell/Python, and issue/change tracking with Jira
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with globally distributed teams
• Awareness of release/change management and safe deployment patterns
• Hands-on experience integrating SSO or configuring IAM platforms (ForgeRock AM/DS preferred)
• Exposure to API authentication concepts (OAuth 2.0 flows, JWT) and mTLS basics
• Familiarity with web/security architecture fundamentals (TLS, reverse proxies, load balancers, WAF concepts)
• Basic CI/CD and infrastructure as code exposure (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Terraform)
• Experience writing small automations in Shell, Python, or Groovy to reduce toil
• Awareness of incident/change/problem management processes applied to IAM operations
• Understanding of GDPR, PCI DSS, and ISO/IEC 27001 requirements for access controls, logging, and data handling

• Partner with multiple engineering teams to provide technical direction and ensure alignment with engineering standards and best practices
• Review system designs and architectural approaches, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with business requirements
• Drive adoption of best practices across development workflows, including code reviews, testing strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support teams in translating business requirements into effective technical solutions and implementation approaches
• Provide guidance on complex technical challenges and influence key engineering decisions across teams
• Promote consistency in coding standards, design patterns, and software engineering principles
• Coach and mentor engineers and technical leads, supporting their development and effectiveness
• Contribute to improving delivery efficiency through enhancements in processes, tooling, and engineering practices
• Support test strategy improvements, including regression testing and quality assurance approaches
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
• Ensure delivered solutions meet internal quality standards and align with broader organizational goals
• Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing engineering culture
