Head of Vendor Management (Cybersecurity)

The Group Chief Information Office (GCIO) COO function ensures operational excellence for GCIO, supporting HSBC's ambition to be the most trusted bank globally. This role is within the COO Cybersecurity Vendor Management pillar, aiming to manage technology vendors consistently throughout their lifecycle to maximize value and manage risk.

• Proven executive leadership experience in technology management roles within financial services, preferably multinational banks.
• Strong understanding of technology operational management and external environments including regulatory and market factors.
• Experience managing within a complex matrix environment.
• Deep financial and commercial awareness with experience managing financial/resource plans and organizational transformation.
• Ability to manage and mitigate operational risk effectively.
• Maintains expert knowledge of stakeholder requirements, competitor activities, and market trends.
• Proven team leadership skills including building and empowering high performing teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to make data-driven decisions.
• Understanding of HSBC Group’s strategy, structures, and processes.

• Ensure alignment of key parties to agree objectives and support development of Tech/Business strategies.
• Provide third party requirements to procurement; analyze options and support business case development.
• Support procurement with commercial negotiation, assessment, and deal structuring.
• Confirm contract compliance including funding and P&L impact.
• Manage Third Party Spend approval process and update forecasts and budget requirements.
• Validate benefit claims and manage financial, workforce, and recharging requirements.
• Refresh objectives and conduct strategy reviews before negotiations.
• Oversee Third Party Engagement Management tasks, vendor performance, and risk management.
• Act as active member of Cybersecurity Ops Director leadership team and GCIO Vendor Management Pillar.
• Chair Cybersecurity Vendor Management Meetings.
• Lead and manage the Cybersecurity Vendor Management team.
