Full Stack Software Engineer 4/5 - Content Promotion & Distribution Engineering

The Content Promotion and Distribution (CPD) Engineering Organization at Netflix creates technology to set up, promote, localize, and launch content on the Netflix service and off-service on social channels. The CPD organization sits at the intersection of the consumer experience and the Netflix Studio, focusing on content cataloging, promotion, localization, and distribution to make the Netflix experience personal and relevant. CPD teams include Promo Asset Management, responsible for managing and distributing promotional assets, and Publishing and Fan Engagement Technology Engineering, which creates interactive experiences for Netflix fans and experiments with AI to enhance engagement.

• Experience as a full-stack engineer building backend services and user-facing interfaces.
• Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern UI frameworks.
• Experience in backend development using JVM languages such as Java, Scala, Kotlin, or Python, C#, or Ruby; building and consuming APIs (REST and/or GraphQL); and working with databases.
• Familiarity with GenAI and AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate workflow, with sound judgment in validating AI outputs.
• Experience with testing frameworks and tools and shipping high-quality, well-tested code.
• Comfortable with iterating through prototypes and experiments in ambiguous solution spaces and using data to inform decisions.
• Ability to learn and use in-house software frameworks, components, and services effectively.
• Effective communication and collaboration with various partners and teammates.

• Design, build, test, deploy, and operate internal and consumer-facing web experiences end-to-end, including backend services, integrations, and modern web UIs.
• Partner with Product, Design, and other cross-functional partners early in the lifecycle to shape direction, clarify scope, and align on trade-offs.
• Help the team move from ideas to execution, clarifying ambiguous problem spaces.
• Collaborate with other teams on shared systems, experimentation, and platform integrations.
• Write automated tests and architect code for testability to uphold product quality in a high-commit-volume codebase.
• Contribute to improving frontend and backend engineering standards and best practices.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and incident reviews with clear expectations and support.
• Use and help improve AI-assisted engineering tools and practices to increase team productivity and code quality.
