[Vatix] Senior Backend Engineer

We're hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to join a product engineering team of about 12 in Kraków, contributing to all backend areas including APIs, data models, and integrations with IoT devices. The position involves hands-on development, architectural collaboration, and working closely with colleagues across multiple disciplines.

• Strong skills in Python and Django, including Django REST Framework.
• Experience designing and building scalable backend systems.
• At least 5 years of backend engineering experience at a senior level.
• Strong communication skills, able to explain technical concepts in English.
• Openness to AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code and Cursor.

• Write and ship production backend code daily.
• Participate actively in architectural and design discussions.
• Maintain code quality through clean, testable code and code reviews.
• Debug complex distributed system issues and design preventive solutions.
• Collaborate closely with frontend, mobile, data, DevOps engineers, and Product team.
• Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers.
