Backend Java Developer

Join Citigroup's technology team to develop and enhance the proprietary “Margin Calculations and Reporting” platform, a key part of their Prime Finance Services organization in finance. The role focuses on evolving a margin calculation engine with complex business logic, impacting financial operations globally within the Prime Services division.

• 4-6 years of experience in systems analysis and software programming
• Strong expertise in core Java, collections, concurrency, and streams
• Deep experience with the Spring Framework (Boot, MVC, Data), Hibernate, and RESTful API development
• Excellent knowledge of Microservices architecture, algorithms, data structures, and design patterns
• Proficient in Test-Driven Development (TDD) using frameworks like JUnit and Mockito
• Solid understanding of SQL and comfortable working in Linux environments
• Experience with messaging systems such as JMS, Kafka; containerization using Docker and Kubernetes; optionally distributed caches like Apache Gemfire
• Working knowledge of Agile project management and ability to collaborate effectively in a global team environment

• Design, develop, and implement robust and scalable application systems for Margin Calculation Services and reporting
• Consult with users, clients, and technology groups; recommend programming solutions and analyze complex challenges
• Monitor and guide software development lifecycle phases including analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation
• Provide user and operational application support to business users
• Make evaluative judgments, recommend security measures, and contribute to post-implementation analysis
• Collaborate with project managers, stakeholders, and senior managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Ensure adherence to best practices and essential procedures
• Operate independently with ownership of critical initiatives
• Proactively assess and manage technical risks, ensuring regulatory compliance and transparent reporting of control issues
