Senior Product Owner

N-iX is a global software development service company founded in 2002, employing over 2,400 professionals across more than 40 countries. The company works on projects involving cloud, data, AI/ML, embedded software, IoT, and more, serving industries such as finance, manufacturing, telecom, and healthcare. The specific project involves a US-based enterprise software provider for public safety agencies, focused on workflow-heavy and highly regulated processes like policy management and compliance tracking.

• 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst.
• Prior experience in finance, insurance claims, public safety, healthcare, or similar high-regulation, process-rich environments.
• Ability to reside in or work within the Croatian (or nearby) time zone for effective team overlap.
• Strong track record in managing product requirements, forming user stories with explicit acceptance criteria, and handling sophisticated approval and workflow rules.
• Excellent spoken and written English; experience working with distributed teams between Europe and the US.
• Comfortable clarifying requirements and making independent decisions, escalating complex issues strategically.

Nice to have:

• Experience working with US public safety agencies or analogous enterprise domains.
• Understanding of reporting and analytics product areas involving extensive data capture and process tracking.
• Experience coordinating multiple development teams (10+ engineers and QA).

• Act as a bridge between a Croatia-based development team and US-based product leadership, ensuring smooth communication and avoiding bottlenecks.
• Hands-on management in Jira: create, clarify, and manage epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Transform high-level requirements into actionable tasks for the development team, ensuring all details are captured, especially for workflow-heavy and regulated domains.
• Support product planning, sprint preparation, feature status reporting, and roadmap tracking.
• Research questions or requirements gaps independently before escalating to US-based leads, accounting for time zone differences.
• Regularly report on progress, raise blockers, and coordinate between development and product teams.
