JAVA Tech Lead

• Minimum 5 years of production experience with Java 11+/17+, Spring Boot, and Spring Framework.
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, REST integration, and event-driven patterns with RabbitMQ.
• Experience with MySQL, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch including query optimization and migrations.
• Familiarity with Apache Tomcat, Docker, Rancher, and cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Deep understanding of authorization flows: OAuth2, SAML 2.0, and JWT tokens.
• Experience configuring Auth0 or similar cloud IdP with RBAC and multi-tenant setups.
• Ability to design Java code for new System of Record managing organizational data and permissions.
• Desired: knowledge of Databricks, Apache Spark, ETL/ELT pipelines, and AWS services like S3, IAM, VPC.
• Desired: commercial experience with Angular (TypeScript) (3+ years) and React for hybrid frontend architectures.
• Experience as a Tech Lead managing 3–8 people teams.
• Knowledge of architectural documentation models like C4 or IcePanel is a plus.
• Openness to working with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code.
• Experience in financial or regulated environments with strict SLAs.

Nice to have:

• Domain knowledge in Financial SaaS including debt portfolio management and derivatives pricing.
• Experience with legacy technologies like Java Tapestry, BIRT, and Protobuf.
• Experience with on-premise to AWS migrations using IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with in-memory data grids (e.g., GigaSpaces XAP) and secrets management with HashiCorp Vault.

• Lead a 6-person development team with support from a shared Business Analyst.
• Own solution architecture and conduct rigorous code review.
• Ensure timely delivery across three main streams: data layer migration, authorization and identity integration, and frontend development.

Main workstreams:

• Migrate data layer from MySQL/MongoDB to Databricks Lakebase.
• Integrate new identity management system replacing Auth0/OAuth2/SAML.
• Develop and hybridize frontend applications using Angular (TypeScript) and React.

Leadership and delivery:

• Manage technical backlog, estimations, and reporting in a Time & Materials model.
• Set coding standards and enforce review SLAs with continuous feedback.
• Collaborate closely with the client's Chief Architect.
