Senior Analytics Engineer (AWS)

Xebia sp. z o.o. is hiring for a senior analytics engineer role based in Poland with offices in Wrocław, Rzeszów, and Gdańsk. The role focuses on building and maintaining business data models in an AWS lakehouse environment, implementing data quality frameworks, and collaborating with data teams for project performance reporting and mart design.

• Advanced SQL and strong data modeling skills (dimensional, canonical, medallion-style layering)
• Experience with dbt (dbt-core), including tests, macros, sources, and documentation
• Experience with Apache Iceberg and Athena in an AWS lakehouse environment
• Familiarity with analytics engineering practices: version control, code review, modular design
• Experience with dbt adapters for AWS (dbt-athena, dbt-glue), dbt-expectations, dbt-elementary, and Airflow orchestration (ideally Astronomer Cosmos)
• Understanding of partitioning and pre-aggregation techniques for SLA-driven performance
• Python skills for supporting transformations and tooling

Nice to have:

• Previous exposure to graph data (Neptune) and CDC-driven data
• Experience with Snowflake and Sigma

• Build and maintain the canonical business model on Iceberg for project performance reporting
• Develop curated data marts
• Model assembly and sub-assembly hierarchy from the Neptune graph for BOM and project reporting
• Structure dbt projects across staging, intermediate, and marts layers using ref(), macros, and packages
• Implement the data quality framework using schema and freshness tests, dbt-expectations assertions, and dbt-elementary observability
• Handle schema evolution including versioning tables and managing structural changes
• Contribute dbt models to the CI/CD pipeline including slim builds, linting, and PR reviews
• Support scheduled orchestration through Airflow and Cosmos
• Collaborate with Data Analysts on mart design and with Data Engineers on upstream data structures
• Support client knowledge transfer
