Big Data Engineer IV

At OpenX, we have built a team uniquely experienced in designing and operating high-scale ad marketplaces. The core data platform team handles billions of ad requests daily, processing over 1PB of data to extract business value. The team works on an enterprise platform interfacing with multiple distributed teams to deliver a high-performance, scalable, and reliable advertising experience.

• 8+ years experience in Java, Scala, or Python development.
• 3+ years experience in Big Data systems development.
• Experience building complex data pipelines, including SQL-based transformations using tools such as dbt or Dataform, and large-scale data processing with distributed frameworks like Apache Spark.
• Expertise using BigQuery or other data warehouses, including performance tuning and monitoring.
• Understanding of data orchestration tools like Airflow to extend pipelines and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Cloud experience with Google Cloud Platform or AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and DevOps practices.
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and platforms.
• Experience with database system design, relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, physics, or related field (Master's is a plus).
• Communicative proficiency in Polish and English.

• Design large-scale data processing systems.
• Work with Product to drive requirements and own projects end-to-end.
• Analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, and stability of applications.
• Think long-term and avoid temporary fixes.
• Identify and remove unnecessary complexity.
