Enterprise Architect - Data & AI (Cross Domain)

Roche is a healthcare company with a focus on shaping technology strategy by connecting business ambitions to architecture and delivery. This role is within the Strategy, Portfolio & Governance Enterprise Architecture function, focusing primarily on Informatics and complex cross-enterprise domains. The position involves partnering with RDT Artificial Intelligence and RDT Data functions to implement complex AI solutions and ensure enterprise-wide reuse of AI models and data products.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with over 10 years of applied experience in enterprise or strategic architecture roles in complex organizations.
• Demonstrated architectural oversight and strategic guidance in a cross-domain context.
• Proven leadership in architecture communities, resolving complex cross-functional issues.
• Excellent knowledge in two or more domains or technology areas to lead technical discussions and resolve cross-functional challenges.
• Deep, applied knowledge in modern AI architectures, Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI patterns, and scalable cloud data platforms like Snowflake.
• Proficiency in overseeing and governing Information, Technology, Business, and Application Architecture across multiple domains.
• Experience with Enterprise Architecture Management platforms, specifically SAP LeanIX/ArchiMEDES.
• Ability to lead and influence federated networks of architects without direct reporting lines.
• Capability to communicate complex architectural ideas and influence senior stakeholders.
• Commitment to an enterprise mindset prioritizing organizational success.

• Define and drive the architectural vision and roadmap for strategic cross-domain Data & AI initiatives aligned with enterprise strategy and business outcomes.
• Partner with Domain Architects to enable reusable AI solutions and data products across business divisions, ensuring scalable enterprise architecture.
• Lead AI architecture governance by defining reference architectures, automated guardrails, and standards to ensure security, compliance, and responsible AI adoption.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies such as Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and Agentic AI; advise senior leadership on technology strategy balancing innovation, cost, risk, reuse, and sustainability.
• Collaborate with portfolio management to align architecture with investment decisions, manage technical debt, and prioritize high-value AI initiatives.
• Use the enterprise architecture toolchain (ArchiMEDES) to deliver data-driven architectural insights improving decision-making and delivery outcomes.
