Senior Software Engineer - Flight Data Systems

AirHelp is a global travel tech company focused on assisting millions of travelers with flight compensation claims and providing a platform of travel protection and convenience products across the entire journey.

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with significant depth in Go backend service development.
• Proven experience in designing and operating high-throughput, data-intensive or event-driven systems including pipelines, streaming/ingestion, queues, and real-time APIs.
• Strong knowledge of concurrency, reliability, and performance trade-offs.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, and data modeling for evolving datasets.
• Experience across the entire SDLC including deployment and production monitoring.
• Proficiency with cloud environments, especially AWS, and containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ownership mindset with proactive problem solving.
• Clear communication and constructive feedback skills.
• Strong command of English (spoken and written).

Bonus points for:

• Experience integrating third-party data feeds handling rate limits and schema drift.
• Familiarity with aviation or travel domains.
• Experience with observability and SLO-driven operations for critical services.

• Design, build, and scale Go services that ingest flight data from diverse external providers, reconcile conflicting signals, and deliver a normalized view to the platform.
• Ensure performance, correctness, and uptime of Flight Data Systems.
• Lead modernization and optimization initiatives for critical platform components.
• Ship production-ready code daily with strong testing discipline.
• Enhance developer velocity by contributing to shared tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
• Mentor peers through code reviews, design discussions, and documentation.
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to frame problems and translate data requirements into maintainable systems.
