Middle Frontend React Developer

Shelf is creating a unique operating system for an automated future, focusing on enterprise AI by modeling company policies, workflows, and operational logic into an AI Data Model. The company serves enterprise customers like Glovo, Nespresso, and HelloFresh, providing a highly reliable and secure platform with SOC2 and HIPAA-ready security practices.

• Around 3 to 5 years of frontend engineering experience with strong React and modern TypeScript skills
• Production Next.js experience including SSR applications and understanding of SSR, SSG, and CSR trade-offs
• Solid state management experience handling real-time updates, optimistic UI, and multi-tenant data
• Experience building or contributing to AI/LLM interfaces like streaming responses, chat UIs, or semantic search
• Awareness of frontend performance and fundamentals of improving Core Web Vitals
• Exposure to enterprise application concerns including localization, accessibility, and security best practices
• Security-conscious engineering practices for handling sensitive data
• Strong product instinct with ability to identify UX issues and propose solutions
• AI-native working style using AI coding assistants daily
• Clear verbal and written communication of design decisions and technical trade-offs

Nice to have:

• Experience with React Flow, Highcharts, or other complex data-visualization libraries
• Hands-on experience with vector search UIs, RAG interfaces, or semantic search
• Familiarity with MCP, DSPy, or other AI frameworks for building agentic AI interfaces
• Basic understanding of Node.js and Python backend fundamentals
• Contributions to design systems or open-source component libraries
• Proven track record of fast growth and taking on increasing responsibilities

• Build and ship production Next.js applications with complex state and real-time AI interactions
• Build interfaces for AI-powered features including streaming LLM responses, semantic search, interactive knowledge graphs, and agentic builders
• Contribute to the component library and design system, ensuring reusability, accessibility, and consistency
• Deliver enterprise-grade functionality: localization, accessibility, cross-browser support, and security best practices
• Monitor performance post-launch, optimize bundle sizes, and maintain Core Web Vitals
• Use AI tools daily to accelerate development and improve internal frontend workflows
• Maintain high code quality through thoughtful code review
