Regulatory Data Specialist

GFcomply is a SaaS platform delivering compliance and labelling solutions for the food industry. The Data Team collects, structures, and maintains regulatory data from official sources worldwide, powering the compliance and labelling services for customers. The team runs an automated ETL pipeline built around the AI tool Claude to convert regulations from many geographies and languages into a structured, searchable database.

• Comfortable reading official regulatory or technical texts and translating them into structured data.
• Meticulous, zero-error mindset prioritizing accuracy over speed.
• Methodical and consistent in following multi-step processes reliably.
• Curious and confident using AI tools, specifically Claude through structured prompts.
• Strong written English; knowledge of additional languages (French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese) is a plus.
• Degree or equivalent experience in food science, food law, nutrition, regulatory affairs, life sciences, data, or related field (must have).

Operational day-to-day:

• Run each pipeline session end to end: scope, extract, align, validate, and load data.
• Validate accuracy and traceability of processed data, resolving exceptions.
• Keep regulatory data current and accurate as sources change.
• Align substances and product categories to the GFcomply ontology and flag new entities for review.

Contributory tasks:

• Improve AI instructions, prompts, and procedures to enhance session speed and reliability.
• Participate in team retrospectives on session quality and help test pipeline updates.
• Identify friction and edge cases early and propose practical improvements.
