IoT Cloud Engineer (AWS/Azure/GCP)

Holisticon Connect is a division within NEXER GROUP, a custom software development company established in Poland in 2017 with a team of over 140 people. The company works with world-renowned brands from Scandinavia, the UK, and Western Europe. The position is part of an international project building a modern IoT Device Management Platform.

• Strong backend engineering experience with distributed systems, APIs, databases, and production services.
• Experience with IoT, connected devices, network management systems, fleet management, or infrastructure platforms.
• Hands-on experience with MQTT or similar messaging protocols.
• Solid understanding of X.509 certificates, TLS/mTLS, secure provisioning, authentication, and authorization.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals: IP, TCP/UDP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, routing, firewalls, and troubleshooting.
• Experience designing device state models, command queues, telemetry pipelines, configuration management, and safe rollout/rollback mechanisms.
• Comfortable with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Comfortable with containers, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and incident-oriented production operations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across embedded, hardware, product, and business teams.
• Must have been located in Poland for at least 5 years.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with backend languages: TypeScript, Go, Python, Rust, Java, Scala or similar.
• Knowledge of protocols: MQTT, REST, WebSockets, TLS/mTLS, X.509.
• Experience with databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, TimescaleDB, Redis, or similar.
• Experience with cloud technologies: AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker.
• Observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK, or similar.
• Version control systems: Git, GitHub.
• CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions.

• Design and develop cloud-native services for a node-to-cloud architecture connecting embedded devices, cloud platforms, and management applications.
• Build secure device identity and provisioning mechanisms based on X.509 certificates, TLS/mTLS, and authentication frameworks.
• Develop the Network Management System (NMS) responsible for device registration, heartbeat monitoring, telemetry ingestion, configuration deployment, device state management, and command execution.
• Implement reliable device communication, configuration versioning, rollback mechanisms, and secure OTA update workflows using MQTT, REST APIs, and event-driven architectures.
• Collaborate across embedded, hardware, product, and business teams.
