AI Software Engineering Intern

The Software Team at Intel focuses on developing AI technologies and foundational software stacks. They are responsible for delivering NPU IP for AI PCs and GPU IP for Intel's market segments, with experts in hardware and software engineering supporting CPU and GPU/accelerator roadmaps including integrated and discrete graphics.

• Currently pursuing a Master's degree (3rd or 4th year preferred) in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
• Ability to work part-time for the full internship duration
• Comfortable communicating in English
• Solid C/C++ programming skills on Linux and/or Windows
• Good understanding of algorithms and data structures
• Strong problem-solving skills, curious and open-minded
• Motivated, proactive, and quick learner

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience or familiarity with SYCL or CUDA
• Background in mathematics, especially matrix-vector operations
• Experience using version control systems such as Git and GitHub
• Familiarity with remote development using Microsoft Visual Studio
• Experience with Linux systems programming
• Interest or experience in performance debugging and optimization

• Develop new features and algorithms optimized for Intel CPUs, integrated graphics, and discrete GPUs
• Improve performance for current and future Intel hardware
• Learn low-level performance tuning and hardware-aware parallel programming
• Apply some assembly-level optimization techniques
