Lead Security Engineer

This position supports a long-term project delivered for a European Union organization based in Amsterdam.

• Minimum 4 years of experience in the public sector
• Certified Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE) version R81 or more recent

• Act as the senior technical authority responsible for the architecture, implementation, and operational leadership of enterprise network security controls across a hybrid environment encompassing campus infrastructure and multi-cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), with a primary focus on Check Point security solutions
• Design, implement, and operate security services across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments
• Lead lifecycle management of security infrastructure components, including firewalls, security gateways, IPS platforms, and cloud-native security controls
• Define and maintain security policies, segmentation strategies, and security controls aligned with the Agency’s security framework
• Act as senior escalation point for security incidents, operational issues, and root cause investigations
• Ensure coordinated implementation of security changes and assessment of security impacts across environments
• Monitor security service performance and support compliance with agreed SLAs, KPIs, audit, and regulatory requirements
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations supporting security posture improvement, automation, resilience, and continuous improvement

Candidates must be located within 3 hours travel time from Amsterdam and available with 1 day notice for onsite work.
