Staff Backend Engineer

• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Experience with serverless technologies such as Lambda and EC2
• Familiarity with asynchronous workflows and cloud environments
• Comfort with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL
• Strong fundamentals in system design, debugging, and problem-solving
• Demonstrated capability of full ownership of work with minimal oversight
• Excellent proactive communication skills
• Willingness to experiment and iterate on problems without existing solutions

Nice to have:

• Experience with large language models (LLMs) or generative AI
• Experience with distributed systems

• Work on building reliable systems around fragmented, high-value data
• Design services, data models, pipelines, and evaluation loops
• Own business-critical infrastructure with high responsibility
• Improve data completeness and decision transparency
• Participate in experimentation by testing ideas, measuring results, and iterating quickly
