Sr. eCommerce Full Stack Developer (Contractor - Remote in Eastern Europe)

Apex Wheels is a company founded in 2007 with a team of 40+ staff members based in California and remote. They design and manufacture lightweight performance wheels focused on motorsports enthusiasts and track performance. The company emphasizes modern tools, innovation, and remote work flexibility while expanding into enthusiast communities and markets.

• 5+ years professional frontend development experience with deep mastery of Vue 3 (Composition API) in large production apps.
• Strong experience with Nuxt, including SSR/SSG, file-based routing, Nitro server routes, and render/route caching.
• Fluency in TypeScript and writing clean, type-safe code end to end.
• Solid command of Pinia (or similar state management) and Tailwind CSS.
• Production experience with headless CMS and query languages, specifically Sanity and GROQ or transferable systems.
• Experience integrating decoupled storefronts with backend commerce and content APIs over REST.
• Focus on performance and SEO optimization including Core Web Vitals and SSR/ISR-aware caching.
• Experience writing and maintaining tests with Vitest.
• Comfortable owning and improving an inherited, partially documented codebase.
• Valuable: proficiency reading SQL/Prisma ORM and understanding data syncing to frontend.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with Magento 2.
• Experience with Vercel or similar serverless platforms.
• Integration experience with third-party payment and buy-now-pay-later providers.
• Experience with error monitoring and performance tools like Sentry.
• Experience using LLM/AI tooling in content workflows.

• Build and ship customer-facing features across the storefront including product discovery, listing pages, cart, checkout flows, and editorial pages using Nuxt 4, Vue 3, and TypeScript.
• Model content collaboratively in Sanity CMS and maintain GROQ projections for content synchronization.
• Optimize storefront performance and SEO by tuning Core Web Vitals, managing bundle and asset sizes, and working with server-side rendering and caching strategies (SSR/ISR).
• Debug and fix issues along the content-to-storefront delivery path.
• Integrate with Magento 2 commerce and payment APIs alongside team members and external partners.
• Maintain codebase health with clean, reusable components, test coverage using Vitest, and participate in code reviews.
• Contribute to technical decisions and platform direction.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Candidates must be able to work remotely from Poland or Croatia; other Eastern European countries may be considered. The role requires the ability to communicate fluently in English at C1/C2 proficiency. Regular predictable attendance is required. The physical requirements include the ability to sit at a computer for extended periods, travel occasionally, and perform light lifting.
