Senior JAVA Software Engineer

The Sports Data & Odds Engineering organization at Sportradar develops, delivers, and operates a broad portfolio of products powering global sports data and betting ecosystems. Their services process millions of real-time events daily across 120 countries, supporting media companies, sports federations, betting operators, and consumer apps. Development teams in Warsaw and Wrocław build distributed systems operating at global scale, delivering 24/7 mission-critical services across over 30 sports disciplines including e-sports.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with strong Java expertise
• Ability to design and deliver distributed production systems and maintain their operation
• Independent ownership of complex initiatives including architecture decisions and post-incident reviews
• Experience mentoring others and performing effective technical reviews
• Deep understanding of testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering excellence
• Clear communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with AWS, Kafka, Kubernetes, and scalable microservices is a strong advantage

• Design, build, and operate scalable, high-performance Java services for sports data and betting products running 24/7
• Take independent ownership of complex technical initiatives from initial design through to production delivery
• Contribute to cloud-native architecture on AWS, applying experience and judgment platform-wide
• Mentor engineers through code review, pairing, and constructive feedback
• Drive improvements to code quality, test coverage, engineering practices, and team standards
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership on technical direction and challenge when appropriate
• Build expertise in a challenging real-time data environment
