AI-First Backend Software Engineer

Vercom creates global Communication Platform as a Service (CPaaS) cloud platforms that enable companies to build and develop lasting relationships with recipients through multiple communication channels. • Minimum 3 years of experience programming in object-oriented languages (e.g., C#)
• Experience building and maintaining backend systems (APIs, integrations, business logic)
• Understanding of building scalable and maintainable systems (architecture, modularity, performance)
• Work with AI as an integral part of development (code generation, refactoring, analysis, automation)
• Practical experience with LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic), including prompt engineering, function calling/structured outputs, building simple workflows
• Ability to integrate AI solutions with backend and external APIs
• Product-oriented mindset, able to translate business problems into technical solutions
• Enjoy autonomy, experimentation, and finding better ways of working

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of CI/CD and deployment processes
• Familiarity with agent-based approaches (LLM workflows, MCP, A2A, ACP, agent orchestration)
• Interest in optimizing team work through AI

• Design and develop backend systems and APIs
• Develop and enhance features in company products
• Use AI for code generation, refactoring, accelerating development, and automating backend processes
• Build integrations with external systems and internal tools
• Create AI-powered solutions such as workflows, automations, and integrations
• Experiment with new AI tools and implement them
• Share knowledge and support the team in effective AI use
