Senior Python Engineer

As one of the world leaders in the cybersecurity space, OpenVPN is the team that created OpenVPN, the industry-standard VPN protocol now used by most commercial VPN providers worldwide. The role focuses on developing OpenVPN Access Server, a full-featured business VPN solution.

• Strong programming experience in Python 3
• Solid experience with JSON and REST API development on server and client side
• Knowledge of HTTP and HTTPS protocols
• Experience with RDBMS (specifically MySQL, SQLAlchemy)
• Experience with Git and standard software development lifecycle
• General knowledge of SSL VPNs
• Sufficient knowledge of encryption, PKI, and security concepts
• At least upper-intermediate level of English (spoken and written)

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of communication protocols: TCP/IP stack (UDP, TCP), sockets, networking protocols
• Strong networking experience on Linux
• Experience with Twisted, Boost, Ember.js
• Deep understanding of Linux network stack and kernel networking modules (xfilter/netfilter)
• Open Source experience
• Experience in programming web UI with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

• Collaborate with product manager to refine feature specifications
• Develop and support Linux-based server software primarily in Python
• Develop web-based APIs using XML-RPC and REST
• Collaborate with other developers on development and deployment
• Utilize Python asynchronous programming
