AI Developer

Jacobs is hiring for their Digital and Data team to support AI solutions across government and private-sector clients. The role involves working on technical project work collaboratively with subject matter experts, technologists, engineers, data scientists, and project managers in a company engaging in global projects.

• 3-5 years of software development experience, with 1-2 years focused on AI/ML application development
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, AI, data science, or related field
• Proficiency building applications with AI/LLM APIs and frameworks such as Anthropic Claude API, OpenAI API, LangChain/LangGraph, Model Context Protocol (MCP)
• Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, and working knowledge of SQL
• Experience with containerization (Docker), version control (GitHub), and CI/CD pipelines
• Proven ability with AI-assisted coding tools (Claude, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot)
• Ability to travel as needed

Nice to have:

• Bachelor's or Master's in computer science, AI, or related domain
• Experience in the AEC industry
• Experience designing/building agentic AI systems using frameworks like LangGraph, CrewAI, PydanticAI
• Developing/deploying RESTful APIs/backend services with frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or Express
• Hands-on experience building RAG pipelines including document ingestion, chunking, embedding models, vector stores (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector)
• Technical proficiency with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Palantir Foundry/AIP, Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services) and database technologies (data lakes, vector databases)

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered applications and tools using Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, and AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI)
• Build and configure MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers and integrations connecting AI models with enterprise data sources, APIs, and tooling
• Develop RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and AI-assisted automation solutions for projects
• Use AI-assisted development tools (Claude, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate delivery and maintain code quality
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, data engineers, and project managers to translate business requirements into AI solutions
• Architect and implement full-stack solutions including front-end interfaces (React, HTML/CSS/JS), back-end APIs, and cloud-hosted AI services
• Evaluate, integrate, and maintain AI platforms, APIs, and toolchains
• Contribute to technical presentations, demos, and documentation
• Participate in knowledge sharing, code reviews, and mentoring
• Stay updated with evolving AI tools, models, and best practices
