Senior AI/Data Platform Engineer (Snowflake, GenAI)

Jacobs is initiating the development of its Digital & Data Hub in Krakow and undertakes projects across various industries including Consumer and Manufacturing, Defence and Security, Energy and Utilities, Financial Services, Government and Public Services, Health and Life Sciences, and Transport.

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, AI engineering, or platform engineering roles
• Hands on, production level experience with Snowflake, including data modeling, ELT patterns, and performance optimization
• Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or similar languages
• Solid experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, and modern lakehouse or hybrid architectures
• Practical understanding of GenAI architectures such as RAG, LLM powered systems, and agent based workflows
• Experience working with vector databases, embeddings, and semantic search
• Experience operating data and AI workloads in cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or equivalent
• Strong analytical mindset, ownership attitude, and ability to design solutions for enterprise scale

Nice to have:

• Experience with PySpark
• Knowledge of Generation AI technologies (GenAI), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), and Large Language Models (LLMs)

• Design, develop, and operate Snowflake based data platforms supporting analytics, AI, ML, and GenAI workloads
• Build and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines (batch and real time) using modern cloud data technologies
• Design and optimize cloud native data architectures for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
• Integrate and manage large, complex datasets from internal and external sources
• Enable advanced GenAI use cases, including Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), vector search, and agent based workflows
• Design and develop LLM based agent solutions and agentic workflows integrated with data platforms
• Work with embeddings, vector databases, indexing, and reranking techniques to improve LLM output quality
• Collaborate closely with data scientists and ML engineers to ensure platforms fully support model development and production
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data platforms and pipelines to ensure reliability and scalability
• Implement and improve CI/CD, data quality, and observability practices for data and AI workloads
• Contribute to platform standards, best practices, and technical evolution across the organization
