Data Engineer (Fulfillment)

The Data Engineering department at Tesco Technology analyzes order and delivery data to optimize logistics and manages critical information on customers, suppliers, and products while safeguarding data integrity and security throughout fulfillment.

• Experience in data processing using Apache Spark with Scala or Python
• Knowledge of data storage technologies such as Apache HDFS, CEPH S3, or cloud alternatives
• Experience with resource managers like Apache Yarn or equivalent cloud solutions
• Familiarity with lakehouse technologies such as Apache Hive or Kyuubi
• Experience with workflow schedulers like Airflow or alternatives

Nice to have:

• Functional programming skills

• Knowledge of Kubernetes
• Stream processing experience
• CI/CD practices

• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
• Assemble large complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements
• Identify and implement internal process improvements such as automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery
• Build infrastructure required for optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading from various sources
• Build analytics tools to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and business metrics
• Work with stakeholders including Executive, Product, Data, and Design teams to assist with technical data issues and support data infrastructure needs
• Keep data separated and secure
• Create data tools for analytics and data science team members to assist in product optimization
• Collaborate with data and analytics experts to enhance functionality in data systems

This role requires candidates to be based in or near Kraków as 60% of the working week is spent collaborating on-site at office locations or local sites.
