Lead Product Owner / Technical Project Manager

The project is for a client in the DACH region developing a cloud-native SaaS compliance platform for telecommunications customers. The platform supports handling data release and protection orders according to EU e-ID regulations and ETSI standards. The role combines Product Owner and Project Manager responsibilities, requiring technical understanding and AI-assisted product management.

• Minimum 5 years as Product Owner or Product Manager in B2B SaaS teams
• Experience leading Agile/Scrum projects with distributed teams and external clients
• Skilled in eliciting requirements and creating executable user stories
• Strong knowledge of Jira or Azure DevOps, backlog management, and sprint reporting
• Ability to configure and analyze flow metrics
• Good technical understanding for collaboration with architects and developers
• Ability to read OpenAPI specifications and discuss data models and architectural trade-offs
• Experience managing Time and Materials projects
• Document change requests and communicate impacts on budget, scope, and schedule
• Very good English communication skills
• Direct, proactive communication style with international stakeholders

Nice to have:

• German language proficiency
• Experience in telecommunications, LegalTech, GovTech, or compliance projects
• Knowledge of GDPR, DPIA process, lawful interception, or telecom regulations
• Familiarity with ETSI TS 103 120 or ETSI TS 104 144 standards
• Practical use of AI or LLM in Product Owner or Project Manager roles
• Experience with Claude Code or similar AI agent tools
• Experience working with clients under high time and business pressure

• Lead knowledge transfer and gather business, legal, and technical requirements
• Translate compliance requirements into user stories and MVP backlog
• Prioritize product scope jointly with client-side Product Manager or Director
• Full responsibility for backlog, sprint planning, refinement, presentations, and retrospectives
• Ensure compliance with Definition of Ready and Definition of Done
• Monitor and report metrics like velocity, lead time, cycle time, WIP, and cumulative flow
• Manage MVP scope, dependencies, blockers, and change requests
• Analyze impact of changes on schedule, costs, and project scope
• Utilize AI agents for requirements analysis and user story preparation
• Proactively communicate risks, delays, and remediation plans
• Collaborate daily with client, architect, and distributed development team
