Engineering Team Leader - Platform Engineering

RTB House is a next-generation performance demand-side platform (DSP) that uses proprietary Deep Learning AI algorithms to help brands grow. The company operates in 90+ markets and offers Deep Learning-powered AdTech products and solutions. The Platform Engineering team is part of the Bidding Platform organization, responsible for the platform and infrastructure that bidding applications run on, including deployment, monitoring, databases, load balancing, and Kubernetes, ensuring reliability and scalability under massive low-latency load.

• At least 2 years in a technical leadership role (Team Lead / Engineering Manager), including project team leadership.
• Strong hands-on background in distributed systems and systems engineering, including deployment, monitoring, databases, and load balancing in large-scale infrastructure.
• Comprehensive understanding of complex IT systems spanning hardware, software, and algorithms.
• Knowledge of concurrent programming and distributed systems.
• Critical performance analysis skills from theoretical estimation to production optimization.
• Strong programming background and ability to conduct deep code reviews.
• Experience building platform capabilities as products for other engineering teams, including defining clear usage contracts and enabling cross-team technical rollouts.
• Comfortable owning technical areas end-to-end and cross-team communication.
• Self-directed, proactive working style.
• Fluency in English and Polish at C1 level.

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of approximately 8–10 systems and backend engineers, fostering technical excellence and high code quality.
• Own the vision and roadmap for the platform layer of the Bidding Platform, focusing on efficiency, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Define the team's evolving scope as the platform grows and shape areas of interest.
• Delegate ownership of platform areas (e.g., monitoring, deployment, security) to senior engineers, advising and supporting them.
• Deliver the team's capabilities as self-service platforms with clear usage contracts.
• Base decisions on data, running experiments and gathering evidence before deciding.
• Participate in IT-wide capacity planning for platform scaling.
• Own the framework for dispatching on-call alarms and drive elimination of noisy alarms without personal duty rotation involvement.
