Kotlin/Java Tech Lead

Technical Expertise:

• 6+ years of professional software development.
• Strong backend experience with Java or Kotlin.
• Proven experience building and scaling RESTful microservices.
• Hands-on with Spring Boot, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure like AWS or GCP.
• Familiarity with data stores including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, and Elasticsearch.
• Experience with unit testing, test-driven development, and CI/CD pipelines.

Leadership Experience:

• Experience leading engineers on high-impact projects.
• Proven mentoring abilities for junior and mid-level engineers.
• Ability to guide technical decisions, architecture, and delivery planning.
• Experience with end-to-end feature ownership in cross-functional teams.

Collaboration & Mindset:

• Strong communication skills with product, design, and engineering stakeholders.
• Agile mindset focused on iterative design and delivery.
• High ownership and delivery orientation in a fast-moving environment.
• Desire to learn, share knowledge, and help engineers grow.

Technical Leadership:

• Lead the delivery of engineering initiatives from discovery to production readiness.
• Guide backend architecture decisions ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Own technical trade-offs aligned with business goals and engineering standards.
• Mentor engineers through design and code reviews, and daily collaboration.

Backend Engineering:

• Build and improve backend platforms and services.
• Design and scale RESTful microservices for multiple sales channels.
• Develop backend services using Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Work with data stores such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, and Elasticsearch.

Delivery & Product Collaboration:

• Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to scope and deliver features.
• Translate product strategy into scalable technical solutions.
• Drive iterative delivery in an agile environment.
• Maintain stakeholder communication around scope, risks, and progress.

Engineering Excellence:

• Promote unit testing, test-driven development, CI/CD, observability, and production ownership.
• Apply a DevOps mindset to build reliable and operable services.
