Lead Solutions Architect - CREST New Technology

Euroclear is a financial services company connecting over 2,000 financial institutions globally, providing a resilient infrastructure that contributes to the stability of financial markets. The Group Business Solutions (GBS) division delivers reliable and sustainable IT solutions for financial securities markets, maintaining production stability and application support. The core business is currently based on HP NonStop Servers, with communication infrastructure implemented on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. The company is migrating the CREST system from the legacy COBOL-based HPE NonStop Guardian platform to a modern, Linux-based, Java and event-driven architecture.

• Demonstrable solutions architecture skills with full systems development lifecycle experience (inception to post-implementation)
• Strong experience implementing event hub technologies such as Kafka and modern architectures (SOA, microservices)
• Experience leading platform- and database-independent application implementations
• Experience with Financial Market Infrastructure and/or regulated environments
• Strong analytical, systems architecture/design, and database design skills (Oracle, SQL Server)
• Expertise in event-driven architecture technologies like Kafka
• Skills in commodity platforms such as OpenShift and containerization
• Hands-on experience with object-oriented design and programming in Java
• Ability to motivate, coach, lead, and mentor colleagues
• Strong communication and presentation skills, both oral and written
• Ability to complete work within agreed timescales, identify problems and provide suitable solutions, adapt to dynamic environments, and take ownership and accountability

• Knowledge of messaging standards ISO 15022, ISO 20022, and JSON
• Experience with Agile development
• Experience with IBM MQ
• Experience with the Angular framework

• Define migration options and recommend approaches for transitioning from legacy to event-driven service architecture in collaboration with enterprise architecture and application architects
• Deliver coherent end-to-end IT solutions meeting functional and non-functional requirements
• Ensure IT solutions align with enterprise engineering and architecture standards
• Organize solution walkthroughs with delivery teams to maintain consistency across platforms
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure new solutions meet security standards
• Establish infrastructure requirements and collaborate on technical and infrastructure design
• Develop guidelines, patterns, and standards for solution architecture and design in the new technology stack
• Create prototypes and proofs of concept for key components of proposed architecture
• Define estimation principles for migration phases and proof-of-concept exercises
• Lead implementation of prototypes and follow-on work
• Present proposed solutions and plans to management, customers, and teams
• Serve as the technical authority for solutions within the new technical stack
