Software Engineer Mid (Java)

ASTRO Department develops applications to manage the ASTRO networks using Java backend technology and web frontend. The team uses Java21 backend, Tomcat, Hibernate, PostgreSQL, RHEL, and KVM. The candidate will be part of a team developing the Network Management Provisioning Manager application with CI/CD pipelines and on-premise deployment.

• 3-5 years of software development experience with Java, Tomcat, and Hibernate
• Knowledge of Java21 backend technology
• Experience with AI-assisted code generation and code reviews
• Team player capable of working on distributed user stories
• Knowledge of RHEL is a large plus
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL is a plus

• Develop and maintain network management applications using Java, Tomcat, and Hibernate
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies, including daily sync and biweekly sprint cadence
• Collaborate with the team on user stories and integrated components
• Use AI-assisted code generation and perform human plus AI-assisted code reviews

The role requires working in a hybrid mode with interaction points among team members.
