Platform Engineer - API Gateway

• Broad technical background across application development, cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and platform engineering
• Previous experience building or contributing to internal developer platforms or platform engineering capabilities
• Hands-on experience with API gateway and API management technologies such as Kong, Apache APISIX, Envoy, AWS API Gateway, or Azure API Management
• Good understanding of API security, authentication and authorization, traffic management, rate limiting, resilience, service discovery, and observability
• Strong software engineering skills in Java or Kotlin, including experience with modern application frameworks and API design
• Practical experience with cloud platforms, containers, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability, and automated operations
• Ability to work exploratively with incomplete requirements and translate objectives into solutions
• Experience evaluating technical options, creating prototypes, and documenting trade-offs
• Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams with end-to-end ownership
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
• Very good English; German is a plus
