Senior AI Engineer (LLM, Data)

Vecten is an AI-native data and technology partner for private capital and healthcare headquartered in Warsaw, working since 2010 with PE firms and VC funds managing over $1.2T in assets. The company has restructured itself around AI tools, policies, roles, and delivery models. This role supports an American Fortune 500 private equity and investment management client based in New York, working across finance, credit, investments, and real estate with a central Snowflake data warehouse.

AI / LLM:

• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs in production: provider APIs, embeddings, RAG, vector semantic search.
• Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone.

Python and data:

• Strong Python skills with command of typical Python data stack.
• Strong SQL and hands-on Snowflake experience.

Infrastructure and web services:

• Experience with AWS (EC2, IAM, RDS, S3), Terraform, and Docker.
• Experience consuming and integrating external APIs.
• Experience building web services, APIs, or simple UIs.

General:

• 5+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar.
• Comfortable with both Windows and Linux environments.
• English at C1 or above, spoken and written.
• Clear technical writing and documentation skills.

Nice to have:

• LLM fine-tuning experience.
• Working knowledge of MCP and MCP-based integrations.
• Background in statistics or machine learning using scikit-learn or PyTorch.
• Experience with agent frameworks.
• Working knowledge of OAuth 2.0 and OIDC flows.
• Experience with Airflow and dbt.
• Experience with FastAPI or other Python web frameworks.
• Knowledge of TypeScript or JavaScript, plus Next.js or React for UI work.

• Design and ship LLM-powered applications including prompt pipelines, RAG, retrieval, and evaluation from proof of concept to production.
• Deliver MCP servers exposing data and services to AI agents and applications.
• Implement security and authentication layers: enterprise authentication, custom IdP integrations, OAuth/OIDC flows.
• Consume external APIs and wrap them into web services, traditional APIs, or simple UIs.
• Integrate LLM providers such as OpenAI into client systems.
• Build semantic search and retrieval on vector databases like Pinecone.
• Query, process, and analyze data in Snowflake using SQL and Python, preparing datasets for AI features and analytics.
• Contribute occasionally to data pipelines.
• Document design decisions before implementation.
