Senior Software Engineer (Global Money Movement)

The Kraków engineering squads work on platforms for securely storing and validating customers' financial instruments and data, powering customer accounts and wallets, and processing global money movement on AWS.

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• 6+ years of professional software development.
• Experience using AI throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language such as Java, Kotlin, or Go.
• Experience designing secure, scalable, and performant distributed systems.
• Experience operating production systems in cloud environments like AWS, including on-call rotations.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases and data modeling at scale.
• Experience leading technical design for initiatives.
• Experience mentoring engineers.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and partners across time zones.
• Effective collaboration and B2+ English proficiency.

Nice to have:

• Experience with DynamoDB or other large-scale NoSQL data stores.
• Payments/Fintech experience.
• Experience with PCI-scope systems or regulated data.
• Experience designing multi-tenant platform services or shared infrastructure.
• Experience leading complex initiatives involving multiple teams.
• Strong understanding of observability and operational excellence.
• Experience working with external banking and payment partners (e.g., card networks, payment processors).

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable backend services and APIs for financial data handling.
• Decompose complex, cross-team features into parallel deliverables.
• Drive projects from technical design through production readiness, including compliance and security.
• Guide application design decisions promoting maintainability.
• Identify and mitigate technical debt and operational risks.
• Enhance system scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Serve as a technical point of contact for stakeholders and external banking/payment partners.
• Conduct code and design reviews and mentor peers.
• Partner with Product, Operations, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and delivery plans.
