Senior Solution Architect

Roche Digital Technology (RDT) is a global team at the heart of Roche focusing on innovation in healthcare through digital technologies. The role is based in the Drug Substance and Cell & Gene Therapy division, which aims to build a "Lab of the Future" by transitioning traditional research into a data-driven ecosystem. This division applies cutting-edge technology and scientific computing to enable scientists to plan complex studies and capture critical laboratory data.

• Demonstrated experience designing business-driven, standards-based, future-ready solutions within complex or multiple solution/product contexts.
• Experience maintaining vision, roadmap, and landscape for multiple solutions and assessing impacts of initiatives.
• Proven track record of contributing to architecture practices development and mentoring others.
• Expert-level knowledge in multiple technology areas including cloud, on premise, networking, MLOps, AI architecture, and data architecture.
• In-depth knowledge of software development practices, design patterns, domain driven design, and software integration patterns.
• Proficiency in creating Conceptual & Logical Data Models, Taxonomies, Ontologies, and Integration pathways.
• Ability to define and drive reference architectures, NFRs, and fitness functions.
• Capability to assess external technology trends and conduct vendor assessments.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
• Proactive mindset to enhance value, improve solutions, manage technical debt, and lead innovation.
• Experience with GxP processes and standards for software architecture, including system validation concepts.
• Experience in compute heavy Scientific Computing and AI-driven orchestration of business processes.

• Leading the resolution of complex architectural problems and maintaining the vision, roadmap, and current landscape for multiple solutions.
• Assessing dependencies and impacts of initiatives on business capabilities, risks, and application landscape, including creation of data models, taxonomies, ontologies, and integration pathways.
• Defining and driving reference architectures, architectural patterns, NFRs, and fitness functions; documenting and publishing Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
• Evaluating emerging technologies and external trends, conducting feasibility studies and vendor assessments, and driving adoption of new solutions.
• Aligning technical and business stakeholders on technology strategies, architectural decisions, and future-state landscapes.
• Providing technical oversight and expert guidance to product teams, improving existing solutions, managing technical debt, and supporting technology roadmaps.
• Operating across complex, multi-solution/product environments and contributing to architecture practices, knowledge sharing, and mentoring.

The role requires presence in the office on average two days per week as part of a hybrid work model, with specific days varying due to business needs such as workshops and team meetings.
