Lead Java Developer

• 7+ years of commercial experience in Java development, including in a technical leadership role
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 17+
• Solid knowledge of Spring Boot, Hibernate, and SQL
• Experience designing and developing microservices and RESTful APIs
• Practical experience with TDD, BDD, and automated testing
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design, software architecture, design patterns, and engineering best practices
• Experience working in Agile environments and within a DevOps culture
• Practical experience using AI-powered assistants (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to improve productivity, quality, or decision-making in software delivery
• Ability to lead technical discussions, make architectural decisions, and mentor development teams
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Good command of English (minimum B2)
• Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required

Nice to have:

• Experience with AWS cloud services
• Familiarity with JUnit, Cucumber, Selenium WebDriver, or similar testing frameworks
• Knowledge of XML and JSON
• Experience working with Unix/Linux and shell scripting
• Experience with large-scale databases
• Familiarity with Git, Maven, Jenkins, Tomcat, and Apache
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience applying GenAI in structured ways within the SDLC, including defined workflows, prompt patterns, or tool integrations
• Interest in emerging AI-driven practices such as agent-based workflows, automation patterns, and AI-augmented development

• Leading the technical delivery of new features from design through implementation and production
• Collaborating with architects to ensure consistency, scalability, and alignment with the overall technical strategy
• Designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality backend applications using Java and Spring Boot
• Driving improvements to platform architecture, engineering practices, and development standards
• Monitoring, maintaining, and continuously improving production services
• Participating in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, development, testing, and deployment
• Mentoring and supporting other developers through knowledge sharing, code reviews, and technical guidance
• Contributing to architectural discussions and promoting technical excellence across the engineering team
