Databricks Data Engineer

Cyclad works with international IT companies delivering advanced technologies. The Data Engineer role is part of a team providing modern data platforms and data-driven solutions for Financial Services and Investment Banking clients. The project involves building scalable data pipelines and solutions using cloud environments with a focus on analytics, risk, regulatory, and reporting use cases.

• 5-6 years of experience in Data Engineering with Databricks
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and PySpark
• Experience with Databricks components such as Delta Lake and DLT
• Knowledge of cloud data lakes/lakehouse architectures
• Experience with Microsoft Azure services (ADLS, Data Factory, Synapse)
• Familiarity with REST APIs, batch and streaming ingestion
• Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, preferably Azure DevOps
• Strong understanding of data quality, performance tuning, and scalability
• Exposure to banking, risk, regulatory reporting, or analytics platforms
• Experience supporting data-intensive applications for decision-making and compliance
• Very good English language skills

Nice to have:

• Experience with streaming technologies like Apache Kafka or Event Hub
• Experience with Power BI or Tableau
• Azure or Databricks certifications

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines for structured and semi-structured data
• Build and optimize data lakehouse solutions supporting analytics, reporting, and regulatory needs
• Implement data ingestion from databases, APIs, files, and messaging/event streams
• Perform data transformation, validation, and quality checks across data flows
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into data solutions
• Support production environments, analyze incidents, and optimize performance
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory standards
