Android BSP Developer

co.brick talents is recruiting for an Android BSP Developer role for an established client, focusing on low-level firmware initialization, Linux kernel customization, and Android Open Source Project (AOSP) compilation to support custom hardware platforms.

• Advanced proficiency in C and C++ for low-level system code
• Working knowledge of Java for HAL-to-framework integration
• Expert understanding of Linux Kernel, including memory management, device trees, and concurrency
• Experience with Android Build System tools (e.g., lunch, m) and version control systems like Git and Gerrit
• Mastery of debugging tools including JTAG hardware debuggers, gdb, adb, and fastboot
• Flexibility for on-site hardware alignment and integration sessions requiring travel to Warsaw

• Lead the boot process of new custom hardware platforms, including bootloader initialization and low-level firmware configuration
• Customize, optimize, write, port, and debug Linux Kernel device drivers for hardware peripherals such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cameras, displays, touchscreens, and sensors
• Design and implement Hardware Abstraction Layers (HAL) for communication between Android framework APIs and hardware components
• Compile and configure the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) to create optimized OS images (boot.img, vendor.img, system.img)
• Oversee and execute Google Mobile Services (GMS) certification including CTS, GTS, and VTS suites to ensure platform compliance
