Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer (Freelance)

Mindrift is a platform connecting specialists with AI projects from major tech innovators, aiming to unlock the potential of Generative AI by combining human expertise with AI technology.

• At least 5+ years of experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.
• Strong experience in Python web scraping, including usage of BeautifulSoup, Selenium, dynamic content handling (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll), and APIs via proxies.
• Proven ability to extract data from complex HTML structures, including hierarchies and inconsistent markup.
• Solid background in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, producing structured datasets (CSV, JSON, Google Sheets).
• Experience with anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and containerization (Docker).
• Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain and OpenRouter.
• Upper-intermediate English proficiency (B2) or above.
• Self-directed work ethic and strong attention to detail.

Nice to have:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields.
• Experience working with LLMs and AI-assisted workflows.

• Own end-to-end data extraction workflows across complex websites, ensuring accuracy and reliable delivery of structured datasets.
• Leverage internal tools (Apify, OpenRouter) alongside custom workflows to accelerate data collection and validation.
• Ensure reliable extraction from dynamic and interactive sources, adapting to JavaScript-rendered content and changing site behavior.
• Enforce data quality standards via validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, and formatting adherence.
• Scale scraping operations for large datasets using batching or parallelization techniques, monitor failures, and maintain stability against site changes.
