Freelance Data Scraping Engineer (Python)

Mindrift is a platform that connects specialists with AI projects from major tech innovators, aiming to unlock the potential of Generative AI by leveraging real-world expertise globally. This role is part of the Tendem project, which combines AI and human collaboration for data scraping workflows.

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical fields is a plus.
• Strong experience in Python web scraping using tools like BeautifulSoup, Selenium, including handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and APIs with proxies.
• Proven ability to extract data from complex structures including hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML.
• Solid skills in data cleaning, normalization, validation, and delivering structured datasets (CSV, JSON, Google Sheets).
• Hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs) and AI frameworks to enhance automation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Self-directed work ethic with independent troubleshooting.
• English proficiency at upper-intermediate (B2) level or above required.

• Own end-to-end data extraction workflows across complex websites ensuring accuracy and reliable structured dataset delivery.
• Use internal tools (Apify, OpenRouter) alongside custom workflows for data collection and validation.
• Adapt scraping approaches for dynamic, JavaScript-rendered content and changing site behaviors.
• Enforce data quality standards via validation, cross-source consistency checks, and formatting adherence.
• Scale scraping operations using batching or parallelization while monitoring for failures and maintaining stability.
