Principal Program Manager

Remitly is an international payments company that leverages digital channels, including mobile phones, to send money internationally. Remitly's digital products are fundamentally faster, less expensive, and far more convenient for customers to send money across borders.

• 7+ years of progressive experience in corporate security, global security program management, or related field.
• Meaningful exposure to geopolitical risk assessment and international threat environments across more than one region.
• Demonstrated experience monitoring geopolitical risk in markets with active threat dynamics including conflict zones, political instability, state-actor threats, or elevated travel risk.
• Experience building global security programs from the ground up in multi-site, multi-region environments, including physical security standards, incident response guides, and compliance documentation.
• Proven experience working with retained security intelligence or consulting firms, managing relationships, scoping work, and translating outputs into organizational action and leadership briefings.
• Proficiency in building safety, security, and employee care frameworks.
• Experience partnering with HR, Legal, and Risk on safety policy and employee protection programs.
• Experience supporting security-related audits or certification processes such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2.

• Monitor active threat environments globally, including elevated-risk locations.
• Brief GWS leadership on geopolitical risk before escalation; serve as primary internal voice.
• Translate complex threats into clear briefings for senior non-security leadership.
• Develop security standards, protocols, emergency guides, and audit-ready documentation for all Remitly offices.
• Partner with GWS regional leads to implement and maintain site-level standards.
• Oversee security planning for high-risk travel, board meetings, and public events using retained consulting partner.
• Collaborate with HR, Legal, and Enterprise Risk Management on employee care strategy and high-risk location protocols.
• Manage escalation paths and communications for active safety/security situations.
• Create communication templates, response guides, and post-incident reviews.
• Coordinate with Operational Risk Management during enterprise crises.
• Lead relationship, performance oversight, and escalation routing with retained global security consulting partner.
• Evaluate, scope, select, and manage additional security vendors and tools (risk intelligence platforms).
• Deliver audit-ready documentation and control evidence for ISO 27001 and compliance frameworks.
