Business Analysts – Payments Operations Transformation

The role is within a major transformation program in the banking industry focusing on Payments Processing, Payment Investigations, and Sanctions & Name Screening. It involves collaboration with various business and technology teams.

• Experience in transformation consulting within Payments environments.
• Proven ability to redesign operational workflows within Payments Operations.
• Experience in leading business process transformation.
• Ability to confidently challenge SMEs and influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience in balancing industry best practices with innovative thinking.
• Ability to work across complex operational functions to design effective workflows.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with payments processing, payment investigations, and sanctions screening.
• Experience with AI and automation projects in operational contexts.
• Knowledge of financial crime operations and AML processes.

• Lead workshops with Operations, Product, and Technology stakeholders to understand current ways of working.
• Challenge existing processes and assumptions rather than simply documenting them.
• Design future-state operating models across Payments Operations.
• Redesign end-to-end operational workflows to improve efficiency, scalability, and customer outcomes.
• Identify opportunities for automation, AI, and process optimisation.
• Produce clear operating model documentation, process maps, and business requirements where appropriate.
• Partner with Product Owners supporting delivery of the new payments platform.
• Help drive organisational change by bringing together business and technology teams around a common vision.
