Engineering Manager, Consumer Alliance

HelloFresh is a global company serving around 7 million active customers across 18 countries, delivering close to 1 billion meals a year. The role is within the Customer Orders squad, responsible for order processing across HelloFresh's global brands.

• Led a team in an agile environment with 5+ engineers, ideally within a cross-functional squad.
• 6+ years of hands-on backend development experience.
• Deep experience building scalable microservices and event-driven systems, especially with correctness, idempotency, and data consistency critical domains.
• Experience designing and operating high-throughput backend systems.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including observability and production ownership.
• Collaborative mindset working cross-functionally with product, frontend, and data teams.
• Strong communication and active listening skills.
• Ability to operate autonomously, solve complex problems, and remove roadblocks.
• Humble leadership style to motivate and drive teams.

Nice to have:

• Experience with React Native.

• Lead and grow a cross-functional team of 7 engineers, ensuring smooth delivery and continuous improvement of Customer Orders systems and technology.
• Own the architecture and reliability of order creation and tracking, focusing on correctness, idempotency, data integrity, and operational excellence.
• Drive design decisions for scalable, event-driven services such as Kafka.
• Operate as an engineering leader within a cross-functional squad, partnering closely with product and data teams.
• Champion observability, on-call health, and incident readiness for accurate and available order creation and tracking.
• Contribute to hiring, capacity planning, conduct code reviews, and mentor engineers.
• Promote a continuous improvement culture and the HelloFresh DNA.
