Senior UNIX Administrator

• 6–10 years of experience in Linux server administration (primarily RHEL); Solaris experience is desirable
• Deep technical expertise in Unix fundamentals including volume managers, kernel tuning, and multipathing
• Strong scripting and automation skills in Shell, Bash, Python, Perl
• Proficiency with Veritas Cluster and Volume Manager (mandatory)
• Experience with x86 hardware and virtualized platforms (VMware, Citrix, Hyper-V)
• Hands-on experience with SAN/NAS storage, replication, and clustered filesystems
• Good understanding of networking concepts: TCP, UDP, VLAN, firewalls, F5 load balancers
• Exposure to DevOps tooling such as CI/CD and configuration management (e.g., Ansible)
• Ability to work in regulated enterprise environments, ideally in financial services
• Excellent communication skills and team-oriented approach

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with ITIL concepts and operational processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
• Experience driving automation adoption and optimization initiatives at scale
• Certifications in Linux or UNIX system administration

• Configure, deliver, and support Linux (RHEL) and select Solaris servers in a DevOps delivery model
• Support application teams during builds, deployments, and daily environment operation
• Drive infrastructure automation by scripting in Bash, Perl, and Python to reduce repetitive tasks
• Implement and maintain capacity management and performance tuning standards
• Collaborate on new designs and advise on best practices in Unix/Linux system design
• Use Veritas Volume Manager and Veritas Cluster Server for clustering and storage management
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and prevent recurrence
• Work closely with engineering teams to adopt configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, and Chef
• Maintain compliance with IT policies, controls, and operational SLA requirements
