QA Manager

Experience & Leadership:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years in software QA with manual and automated testing of web and API applications.
• At least 2 years managing QA Leads, senior engineers, or multi-team QA functions.
• Experience in insurance or similarly regulated industries is a strong plus.
• Proven track record establishing QA processes, tooling, and standards organization-wide.
• Experience with executive-level reporting and turning quality metrics into leadership insights.

Technical Depth:

• Deep understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and full lifecycle processes.
• Experience implementing and scaling automated testing frameworks with knowledge of BDD and Gherkin.
• Hands-on familiarity with JavaScript and .NET testing tools such as Jest, Mocha, JMeter, Cypress, Selenium, Puppeteer, NUnit, Cucumber, Telerik, Specflow.
• Proficient with defect tracking and test management tools.
• Knowledge of performance, security, and compliance testing.
• Practical experience building AI-powered processes in teams or workflows.

Strategy, Process & Governance:

• Provide full oversight of the testing lifecycle across multiple teams and projects.
• Define and enforce QA processes, standardize tools, environments, and test coverage organization-wide.
• Establish and continuously refine QA processes, procedures, and standards for pre-market product testing.
• Ensure scalable test infrastructure and extend testing capabilities into performance, security, and compliance domains.
• Identify systemic quality gaps, run trend analysis on quality metrics, and anticipate issues affecting release stability or timelines.
• Evaluate and resolve organizational blockers in QA workflows, balancing trade-offs and delivery timelines.
• Deliver executive-level QA insights, reports, dashboards, and recommendations to the Head of QA and leadership.

Team Leadership:

• Manage and mentor QA Leads and senior contributors.
• Distribute workload, set goals, and conduct performance reviews.
• Drive continuous performance evaluation and improvement, resolving conflicts and supporting morale.
• Advocate for Agile testing and quality throughout the product lifecycle.

Execution & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Oversee QA engineers and Leads testing products and implementing automation.
• Partner with engineering, product, and business analysts to shape requirements and testing strategies.
• Participate in reviews of software requirements, design, and architecture to ensure testing requirements are addressed early.
• Manage and triage reported defects.
• Continuously improve testing infrastructure and automated/regression frameworks to ensure reliability and scalability.
