Category Manager - Technology

HSBC Service Delivery is hiring for a role that leads strategy and planning for a procurement sub-category to deliver competitive advantage through cost savings, lifecycle value generation, demand management, and innovation, supporting the global Category Lead and working closely with stakeholders in the Bank's Technology division.

• Experience in Technology sourcing, ideally software, including On-premise and SaaS for trading and brokerage platforms.
• Technology Category Management experience preferred.
• Ability to articulate, influence, and translate strategic objectives into effective category strategies.
• Strong interpersonal and commercial skills with proven stakeholder and supplier relationship building.
• Strong communication and negotiation capability.
• Background in leading high value, complex IT contract negotiations from requirements to execution.
• Robust understanding of third party contract frameworks.
• Results-oriented with ability to navigate complex processes and deliver initiatives at pace.
• Robust understanding of the financial services industry, key players, strategic requirements, and risks.
• Experience in developing and maintaining a global stakeholder network in a complex business environment.

• Lead development, implementation, and management of procurement category strategies for CIB globally.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies and tactics.
• Lead end-to-end planning and execution of sourcing projects, including requirements gathering, negotiation, and securing internal approvals.
• Develop and maintain a global stakeholder network in a complex business environment.
• Provide commercial leadership to stakeholders, including senior executives.
• Understand supply base dynamics and drive value through category planning lifecycle.
• Monitor supplier market for opportunities and alternatives to current category specifications.
• Lead/support creation and maintenance of project pipelines to meet savings targets.
• Contribute to continuous development and improvement of the HSBC procurement team.
• Monitor buying channel compliance and drive corrective actions as necessary.
