Principal Agentic AI Engineer

HERE Technologies is a company located in Kraków, operating in the AI industry, focusing on location intelligence and mobility technology.

• Extensive experience delivering production-grade agentic systems end to end
• Experience with agentic systems evaluation, reliability, and safety patterns
• Strong skills in Rust and Python, especially Rust, with experience in ML frameworks
• Strong fundamentals in system design, distributed systems, API design, observability, and performance optimization
• Hands-on experience with modern LLM engineering: prompting, orchestration, tool and function calling
• Ability to lead through influence, drive alignment, and communicate trade-offs
• Mandatory hands-on use of AI tools in daily engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cost-aware LLM serving, caching, and latency optimizations at scale
• Experience deploying to constrained or edge environments (automotive a plus)
• Familiarity with location-based services, navigation, or geospatial data
• Familiarity with model adaptation techniques (e.g. LoRA/QLoRA)
• Open-source contributions, publications, patents, or recognized technical leadership in AI/ML

Architecture and system design:

• Own design of core platform capabilities exposing location intelligence to AI agents via standardized interfaces
• Design reusable and scalable components

Execution and integration:

• Build systems that convert natural-language location intent into deterministic, decision-grade results
• Integrate multiple services, data sources, and interaction patterns into reliable systems

Performance, cost, and edge:

• Optimize for latency, cost, and reliability, including deployment in constrained or edge environments
• Analyze trade-offs between accuracy, cost, and latency

Reliability and evaluation:

• Design evaluation strategies, benchmarking, and reliability patterns

Technical leadership:

• Lead technical reviews and decision-making
• Retire architectural risk
• Provide design guidance, mentoring, and engineering standards
• Communicate complex trade-offs to engineering, product, and executive stakeholders
