Associate Data Engineering Manager

Booksy is the world's leading hair & beauty app that helps beauty professionals manage their businesses by simplifying appointment processes and daily tasks. The company operates internationally with teams across six countries, focusing on connecting clients with beauty professionals through a cloud-based marketplace platform that scales rapidly.

• 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience with initial leadership experience (e.g., tech leading, mentoring).
• Production-level experience designing and reviewing dbt models and data pipelines on Google Cloud BigQuery.
• Expert SQL skills and strong Python scripting capabilities for pipeline orchestration (e.g., using Airflow or Cloud Composer).
• Practical experience with agile methodologies and ownership of delivery commitments.
• Professional English language skills (B2 level or higher).

Nice to have:

• Basic familiarity with Terraform for managing cloud-based data assets.
• Exposure to PySpark and open table formats like Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake.
• Experience with AI-assisted workflows using tools like Cursor or Claude.

• Lead and grow a small team of 2-4 data engineers.
• Run agile ceremonies such as sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Own the team's quarterly OKRs.
• Design, build, and review dbt models and data pipelines on Google Cloud BigQuery.
