Analytics Engineer

• 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or comparable data roles handling large datasets
• Expert in SQL with ability to write and review complex queries confidently
• Solid understanding of data modeling principles and hands-on experience with dbt or comparable transformation frameworks
• Discipline in analytics code engineering including version control, code review, testing, and CI
• Comfortable with Python and experienced with workflow orchestration tools such as Prefect, Airflow, or Dagster
• Experience with cloud data warehouses; experience with BigQuery is a plus
• Ability to support and collaborate with cross-functional teams in dynamic environments
• Proactive mindset seeking improvements and challenging the status quo

• Evolve the dbt project toward modular, documented, and tested data models organized in clear layers from raw sources to marts
• Shape the semantic layer from its early stages by defining how metrics are modeled and governed, and drive its adoption
• Establish data modeling standards and conventions for the Business Analytics team and uphold them through code review, pairing, and documentation
• Partner with Data Scientists and Data Analysts to design datasets for analyses, dashboards, and ML models
• Build out data testing practices, enforce them in CI, and implement observability over data
• Diagnose upstream data issues and collaborate with Data Engineering and Enterprise Systems teams for resolution
• Build and maintain Prefect workflows to operationalize data and models
