Scala Software Engineer, Core Data

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
• Over 3 years of professional software development experience
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and code design principles
• Strong knowledge of high-scale distributed systems
• Familiarity with Scala, Java, MySQL, Pub/Sub, and BigQuery
• Passion for database scale and performance challenges
• Strong sense of ownership, persistence, drive, and strong communication skills

• Help define the future of Core Data architecture in the cloud and evolve systems accordingly
• Design novel solutions addressing scale and observability challenges due to increased data tier usage
• Develop services to identify, eliminate, and prevent data inconsistencies and corruptions
• Provide guidance to engineering teams on using near-real-time data interfaces
• Drive wider adoption of near-real-time interfaces across engineering by identifying compatible use cases
• Implement initiatives to ensure systems meet availability, performance, and reliability SLOs
